Welcome to another psionics seminar here at the social club.

As mentioned earlier, we’ll be talking about oomph, and working with it: gathering, “generating” and moving the stuff.

oomph, psi, and so on designate whatever it is that allows psychokinesis and telepathy to work. Might be one thing. Might be hundreds of things.

Some people even posit that it is more an absence of stuff than a kind of “stuff” itself.

There are literally hundreds of ways to use it.

We’ll be looking at a few tonight, chosen simply because they are ways I’ve used it personally, and which other people have also used successfully.

This does not mean that these are the best ways generally, the best ways for you personally, or even good ways for you.

For those of you who haven’t done much with psionics, this gives you something to work with and maybe start from.

For others, it’s either a review or a different angle from your usual one.

The usual warnings apply – but for those learning this for the first time, the usual warnings might not be known:

Psionics – and energy-work generally – affects the body, much like exercise, and heavy concentration does.

Have you ever pulled an “all-nighter” either cramming for an exam at school or trying to make a tight deadline at work?

If so, remember the “hang-over” you had the next day?

That’s a reflection of an upset in your blood chemistry.

Glucose and potassium – and therefore insulin – are affected. If you have diabetes or anything similar, be extra careful.

Keep a snack nearby. If you’ve heard about the apparent obsession psionicists have with orange juice, this is why: it restores sugar and potassium quickly.

The working model we’re using for tonight’s class is the idea that psi/oomph is some kind of “stuff” that is produced by the body of practically any animal – and that would include us carnivorous plains apes.

Many people seem to accumulate more of it than they need for … whatever it’s for… over the course of a normal day, and most people seem to have at least some stale “oomph” stuck to their fields/auras/less-solid-parts on a pretty regular basis.

Perhaps strangely, we’re going to look at moving oomph before we worry about gathering or generating it.

Most people have some extra around their tummies. Usually it’s between the xyphoid process (the little tab of bone at the bottom of your sternum,… which is itself the plate of bone where your ribs meet in the middle of your chest) and the belly button. But, for our purposes at the moment, it doesn’t really matter exactly where around there it is, or how much of it there is or isn’t right now.

For the visualization…

Pretend the oomph is water, and it’s in a pool/tank/lake/claret glass/whatever on your tummy.

Now, find a hand or a foot.

are feet also above the legs?

Connect the pool to the hand-or-foot with a pipe along the surface. The pipe can be clear or opaque, jointed or flexible. Whatever makes you happy.

The feet are the things at the far end of the legs. 😀

When you’ve chosen the destination and a kind of pipe…. let some of the water flow along the pipe to the hand-or-foot.

You can encourage it to move in a number of ways:

Some of you may find that just imagine the pipe opening (opening a tape, for example) will do it.
Rainsong
Some may prefer to direct the movement by lightly running a finger along the route
Rainsong
A few folks like to get technical, and add imaginary sluices and valves and stuff
Rainsong
Keep the muscles relatively loose and relaxed along the way, especially when you’re first learning how to do this.

However, you may find that forcefully breathing out can help push some oomph along.

It took me a while to “connect” with the pool at the belly and actually get the stuff moving… as opposed to just imagining it being there (I’ve not worked it in this way before)

And I much liked the visualization of a water line on a fridge, btw, for the pipe portion 🙂

Don’t be afraid to actually draw along the route with a finger. The Quantum Touch people all start out that way, and it works really well

It’s totally new to me, and I never did it before because I never felt the oomph there in the first place. But now I have a substantial pool of it I didn’t know I had, in a messy blob in my hand 🙂

Practice running it back and forth between the end-of-the-limb and the tummy.

Then put another end-of-limb up against the one you’ve been sending it to – hands together, or hand against foot, or feet together sole to sole – and looping the oomph through… from the tummy to the end of limb across to the other end of limb and back to tummy.

And then try “spraying” some outward against a wall or a table or something. Just a little, to get the idea of moving some out of the system.

IME the ‘resevoir’ actually is kinda on the small side and seems a bit similar to how a person might wind up for a punch or crouch before jumping

Its size is variable, from person to person and from day to day. For this first bit, it didn’t need to be very big. Almost everyone has enough to work with for the basic exercises.

Now that we’ve looked at a way to move the stuff around, are folks up to looking at “gathering” and “generating” it, so as not to rely on the reservoir? Or would you prefer to pause here, and take up generating and gathering next week?

Personally, I leave that up to you if you’re not busy or anything, but so far this has been interesting and I remain interested

Make a fist, and notice what it feels like.

Flatten/Open the hand again, and notice what that feels like.

After you’ve done that, start to make a fist but stop the motion before your hand moves.

I feel a cooler temperature difference almost like a tiny breeze then after long enough tingles i start to feel as well

The sliminess/thickness/breeze-feeling is what we’re looking for. Sometimes you won’t feel anything particularly, and that’s okay, too. Feeling it there makes it easier to use (but not absolutely necessary).

Using a pool of water is trying to follow gravity, but I also don’t feel anything special around the tummy

Try scraping some of it off with the edge of the other hand, and then pack it together like a snowball (or a ball of cookie dough)

Again, it’s okay if you don’t feel much or anything.

Hm, so will just imagining water there actually do all the work or do I need to still focus on/be aware of some form of energy?

Candra: I tried “contacting” the energy with the in breath, then moving it with visual aid with the out breath (when convenient)

Candra: along with the intention for the water to represent the oomph, yes

So with intention is context I guess. While oomph was earlier defined for its practical applications, what really defines it?

“What really defines it?” We don’t know. There’s some evidence, from an assortment of studies, that there may be some kind of radioactive particle associated with or part of. But it has not been established as to what “oomph” actually is.

“Psi” is just a variable to designate “whatever lets psychokinesis or telepathy work.”

That might be one thing or several things.
