Alright, folks. Of the suggestions, what do the lot of you want for tonight?
Ethanness46
How exactly would you go about altering timelines and probability?
Rare peypey
I’ll find you an article on it, 1 sec
Rainsong
Looks like Probability has it. We’ll start there, then.
Rainsong
We’ll tuck the other topics into future seminars.
Rare peypey
couldn’t find the one I had read before, but the gist of it is a kind of hybrid between micro PK and sigils to change the probability of events
Rainsong
Probability alteration is, basically, the gist of microPK.
Rainsong
The sigil aspect is something I’ll have to leave for someone else to cover, presumably at some other time.
Rainsong
Actually, this topic might end up being really short.
Rainsong
Step 1) Figure out what you want to do (i.e., What do you want to make happen?)
Rainsong
Step 2) Either decide on a careful way to articulate it or to imagine it.
Rainsong
Some things are easy: If you want dice to roll a certain way, picturing them having rolled that way, or just “All sixes, baby!” will get the idea through.
Rose
what the…?
Rainsong
Most things are more complicated. The reason “wishes” are a plot device in so many books, movies, and RPGs is that “unintended consequences” are a thing.
Rare peypey
(I’ve noticed “just knowing” that something is gonna happen is a pretty decent method for micro PK, although this helps for other skills too)
Rainsong
Rare Peypey: It can be. As with many things, it varies from person to person. 😀
Rainsong
Step 3) Quietly concentrate on the desired end-result.
Rainsong
Do not think about the probable process to get there
Rainsong
(Do not pass Go, do not collect $200… Yes, my age is showing)
Rainsong
Keep it up for a few minutes at a time.
Rainsong
Your proverbial mileage may vary, but I’ve found that “pushing too hard” can backfire spectacularly.
Rainsong
Questions? Commentary?
Rare peypey
question : when doing micro PK, I’ve noticed energy being expended, but it doesn’t seem to go anywhere specifically. have you also noticed this/have you been able to feel where the energy actually goes?
Rose
secondly, how do you avoid pushing too hard?
Rainsong
Rare peypey, re question 1: Sometimes it doesn’t really feel like it’s going “anywhere”… If there’s a place between separate timelines, it might be going there.
Rainsong
Sometimes, as when mucking with dice, some of it goes toward the thing being affected.
Rainsong
Rare peypey, re question 2: If you’re using hard exhalations, or you feel the effort in the muscles of your gut (or you’re squinting up your eyes and feel like you’re constipated), you’re pushing too hard
Dr. Strange Stuff
Yes, how can you find the “line” between enough push and not enough? Is there an efficient number of times to visualize the end result? 20 times, 30, 50?
Dr. Strange Stuff
Is there any way to integrate energy work to work congruently alongside the visualization?
Rose
question: there’s this theory that there are a billion ways the future can proceed, and that they’re already pre-defined in one of the higher dimensions, and that with every choice, it steers you down a different version. What do you think of this when applied to probability manipulation? Could it be that you’re forcing one of the paths to be your future?
Rainsong
DSS: Err on the side of not enough. It’s about the only part of psionics like that, and it’s weird. How many times you concentrate will be largely a matter of “how long before it happens” and “how complex the change” Dice rolls are often just mucked with once per roll… for lack of time, if nothing else. Make the Cubs win the World Series? (They’re baseball, aren’t they?) That might take a few times a day for…an extended period.
Rainsong
DSS: energy work other than the microPK itself?
Rainsong
Rose: If that model is correct, then yes, I’d expect that the idea here is to force one of the paths in preference to the others.
Rare peypey
re DSS’s question, I think he meant manual energy manipulation on top of the energy use in micro PK
Rainsong
Thanks, Rare
Rainsong
It’s common practice to charge items with microPK kinds of intentions.
Rainsong
Otherwise, I wouldn’t suggest it.
Rainsong
On the other hand, you could choose a harmless target to experiment. (cf dice)
Rare peypey
(I use this site for micro PK practice whenever I get back into it, maybe some of you will find it useful http://www.psychicscience.org/pk1.aspx )
Dr. Strange Stuff
What if micro PK couldn’t be used to get the end result? Like imagining 6 months rent money in your hand? Or imagining someone not sick in the hospital any more?
Rainsong
Thanks for that. I hadn’t seen that one. There are quite a few, but most of my favourites are no longer active.
Rainsong
DSS: Excellent question.
Rainsong
For the rent money, come up with something that would result in your receiving that money: a sudden gig offer, winning some kind of contest, or whatever, and work with that. Just “get x amount of money” tends to end badly.
Rainsong
This isn’t so much because of morality or ethics, as “this stuff tends to take the path of least resistance”
Rainsong
As for the person in hospital, imagine the person as healthy.
Rainsong
Harold Sherman – a researcher from Arkansas, in the last century – used the example of gangrene on a foot. Imagine the foot as it should be.
Rainsong
Just imagining the person “not sick in hospital anymore” could as easily result in the person’s death as their recovery
Nyka
Arkansas of all place. The land i just divorced
Rainsong
Sherman did some very nifty stuff, and ran some pretty impressive experiments. If you happen to come across any of his books, they are well worth a read.
Rainsong
Any further questions? Commentary?
Dr. Strange Stuff
In creating timelines that you want to exist in the future, is it more creation of another train track of reality that’s a possibility, or more of a picking of train tracks that are already pre-existing? If that makes sense at all?
Rainsong
DSS: Unknown at this time
B.O.X.
(I’m here, and apparently sorry I haven’t finished reading my book on the quantum, heh)
Rainsong
Coming up with detailed “instructions” and concentrating on them a lot can apparently result in “that train track” being the one in use. Beyond that, I don’t have an answer.
Rainsong
Hi, B.O.X.
B.O.X.
Hello, hello. I’ve caught up from the beginning.
Dr. Strange Stuff
Instructions as in… The “how to” part you said not to do earlier?
Rainsong
No, not the how-to part… details as to the end result.
Rainsong
Sorry. I phrased it badly
Dr. Strange Stuff
Gotcha. So making a crystallized image of what you want to happen is the most important part then?
Rainsong
Pretty much
Rose
and focusing on it for as long as you can?
Rose
as if it’s already happened?
Rose
as clear in your mind as possible?
Dr. Strange Stuff
Would it help to create a picture of emotional reactions to the things and question? For instance, if I were to use this to get a motorcycle, the rush of the adrenaline of speeding and being in control and having that emotional freedom. Could I use all of that to make it more likely, or is investing some type of emotional energy a bad idea?
Rainsong
Focus on it for up to fifteen minutes at a time. More sustained that that is probably wasted effort
Rainsong
As if it has already happened.
Rainsong
As clearly as you can manage, yes. Some people find it useful to doodle pictures of it at the same time. Others don’t
Rainsong
Emotional reactions to the results are good, in moderation. I don’t know if too much will cause it to backfire.
Rainsong
Any other questions? Commentary?
Dr. Strange Stuff
I believe that is it. Would anyone want to practice this?
Rainsong
Dice and dicebots are good practice targets
Rose
i’m still resting out as per someone’s advice
Rainsong
Yea, PK wouldn’t be wise in your current circumstances
Rainsong
Thanks for participating, all
Scelana
Thxies for the lecture Rainsong
Rainsong
Thanks for participating
B.O.X.
Thank you. Been meaning to practice this on some dice, actually.
Dr. Strange Stuff
Thank you very much for the lecture Rainsong
Rainsong
Thanks 😀
