Wayfarer: Okay, I mean it’s right up there but this will be LECTURE51, and the topic is also right up there but we’re talking about difficulties and sound methods of interpretation of input. Sort of. I mentioned to Rainsong maybe last week that I had some things to add and she suggested I just take the wheel this weekend, so that’s what’s happening here.

Wayfarer: Unlike Rainsong I tend to type in giant blocks, rather than sentence by sentence. That said, if I’m typing, I haven’t left yet.

Wayfarer: I did do up some notes for this thing. I thought about just writing a paper on the topic and copy pasting it in here on a feed but decided that’s ridiculous. … I might make a bot to do that in the future though.

OEC Chatroom Culture and Learning Psychic Abilities

The thing is that a lot of that shit happens in conceptual spaces around chatrooms and things like that that you can just not be a part of, but because many people on the Weird Psychic Internet are in a place where they’re trying to validate their own experiences for themselves or otherwise are seeking confirmatory experiences to reinforce to them that it’s real, they do things that deliberately open them up to those experiences.

So like, you can just not participate in the Discord telepathic conceptual energy mesh thing by just not reaching out telepathically/energetically to everyone you talk to; but the natural tendency is to reach out and touch people you talk to, and not everyone wants to go through the (minimal) effort to not do that because they low-key want those experiences because they validate or confirm that “it’s real.”

Rainsong: As their name suggests, these characters are healers, physicians and the like. Their equally fictional leader was a bit of a nerd, which is why he chose the name he did.

Rainsong: It refers to Aeculapius, a Greek God of Healing and Medicine.

Rainsong: You’ve probably seen pictures of His staff, as it’s used as a symbol for medicine

Rainsong: Therefore, we’ll be covering some healing-related things, and -depending on mood and interest – possibly things that are very much the opposite of healing.
