A Basic and Reasonably Safe Healing Method

Instructor: Name
Date: July 1, 2017 (Saturday)

Rainsong
Hi, all.

Rainsong
Seminar is scheduled to start at the bottom of the hour.

Rainsong
Any preference/request regarding topic?

Forest_Horns
I’ll probably be on and off depending on how busy work is so none here

Rainsong
Fair enough. And, for the record, I have no problem with folks lurking and/or popping in and out of seminars, as long as it’s not done in a disruptive manner. I usually won’t lecture to an “empty room” but that’s entirely up to my mood at the time. I have done it before…

Dakaran
That sounds odd. I have no opinion on topics, but I will be reading.

Rainsong
Would a basic, run-of-the-mill distance healing method be of interest?

Dakaran
Yes, healing would probably be of great benefit in case something stupid I do injures me.

Rainsong
Alrighty then, we’ll run with that.

Rainsong
Generally speaking, we try to avoid being stupid, but injuries do happen from time to time. Also, headaches, dental caries/cavities, general muscle soreness from pushing a bit in sport/exercise/martial arts/bootcamp…

Rainsong
Part of being not-stupid is to avoid deliberately altering your body with psionics when you don’t know what you’re doing.

Rainsong
For example, if you’re going to adjust your insulin/glucose balances, first make sure that you understand what insulin and glucose are…

Rainsong
Similarly, don’t use a generalized “tissue growth” kind of working on a tumour…

Rainsong
Questions or commentary on not being stupid?

Dakaran
Seems rather clear, just try not to give yourself cancer or mess with things beyond your knowledge base.

Rainsong
Yep, that’s the basic idea.

Rainsong
The idea that psionics can only be used for “good” and you can’t accidentally or deliberately hurt yourself or anyone else with this stuff is horse-pucky. It’s important to know that before you get started.

Rainsong
It should also be noted that my descriptions typically have the psi/ki/Qi/prana/whatever being directed with and through the hands.

Rainsong
That’s because that’s how I do it.

Rainsong
You can direct your stuff without using your hands. However you normally “send stuff” outward – for instance, for pk or constructs – will be fine.

Rainsong
You know that already, but in case any of the new folks are reading this later. “Arrrrg! I only have one hand. I can’t do this.” Or, “No, you’re doing this all wrong. My instructor said to send it out from the heart instead.”

Rainsong
Having only one hand is not an impediment to psionic healing.

Rainsong
And sending the stuff out from the heart area is a perfectly valid convention.

Rainsong
If you’re working on yourself or on someone in the same room, you have a choice: either “aim” directly at the body in question or make an imaginary version (a sort of construct voodoo-type doll) and float it in the air directly in front of you.

Rainsong
The contruct doll approach is handy for distance work.

Rainsong
Here again, there are other perfectly valid methods…

Rainsong
What to “aim”?

Rainsong
Let’s take an example.

Rainsong
How about we pretend that you were a little too enthusiastic in ballet class, and your calf-muscles are having a quiet word with you about all those saut-de-chats you were doing.

Rainsong
saut de chat = one of those highly athletic artsy-dancy jumps that ballerinas do.

Rainsong
So, you’d sit yourself down somewhere and put your hands on either side of your lower leg. I’d suggest doing one leg at a time, but some people get good results with doing both at once. Why not try both ways and see which is better for you?

Rainsong
You can place your hands flat on your leg. Or you can hold them a few inches / several centimetres away from the surface of your leg. Again, both ways are commonly used and both are effective. Try both and see which is better for you.

Rainsong
For the record, if you’re going to be working on other people, it’s easy to be not-awkward if you don’t come in physical contact.

Rainsong
If you’ll be working with horses or cats, they usually prefer the contact. Dogs don’t seem to care.

Rainsong
If there are dogs in the house, and you start working on healing stuff, don’t be surprised if they come running. They tend to really enjoy soaking up healing-stuff.

Rainsong
At “Mama’s” place, I end up covered in dogs every time I try to work on Mama.

Dakaran
lol. That sounds like it would make it hard to concentrate.

Rainsong
Yes, it does… especially because I’m absolutely terrified of dogs.

Rainsong
It’s still pretty cute, though

Rainsong
So, yes, anyway…

Rainsong
Once you’re in position, you still have several options ….

Rainsong
For the sore muscles, it’s pretty simple: Run psi/qi/whatever right through the area. You can move it from one hand to the other, or move it out of both hands to meet in the middle of the interior of the leg, or send stuff from both hands through the leg and into the ground.

Rainsong
A nice cool/blue/soothing program added to the energy will be helpful.

Rainsong
That’s also useful for headaches and pain in cavitites and fractures.

Rainsong
Whether you pull the “energy stuff” from the ground, from your own field, or from some other “source” doesn’t make much practical difference.

Rainsong
If you are pulling from the ground, it is often helpful to do so rhythmically, instead of all one stream. Bring stuff into your field as you breathe in, and send it out into (in this case, through your hands into your leg) as you breathe out.

Rainsong
If you believe you may have torn the tissue in the leg, also picture the structures whole and healthy, the way they should be, as you run energy-stuff into them. This is where an anatomy course will come in handy….

Rainsong
Questions or commentary to this point?

Dakaran
Sorry about the delay. Why blue energy? Is that a personal symbolic association?

Rainsong
Cool colours tend to be more soothing for inflamed and painful things. Green and teal have been known to encourage tissue growth a little too much, if you take my meaning.

Rainsong
Orange – an obviously not-cool colour – has been noted to cause the body to purge things, resulting in vomiting, diarrhea, and termination of pregnancies.

Rainsong
You’re probably safe with white, silvery-grey, and most of the purple colours, though.

Rainsong
If red feels better than a cool colour, run with it. It won’t cause damage. It will usually make whatever it is hurt more, though.

Rainsong
The “personal symbolic association” thing is a great question.

Rainsong
The answer is “probably not” but it might be. In some cases, the results were noted after the fact, of using an unusual colour choice for an unrelated reason.

Rainsong
If you’re not pregnant, you probably don’t need to worry about it.

Dakaran
lol, I don’t think I’ll have that problem for a while. Still wouldn’t want diarrhea though.

Rainsong
Yea, if it’s violent enough, it can land you in the ER having your lower digestive tract being stuff back into your body.

Rainsong
Trust me – you do not want to experience that.

Dakaran
Ok, cool colours. Really cool colors, no orange at all.

Rainsong
😀

Rainsong
I first read about the problem with orange in a textbook written by a practitioner from Southest Asia.

Rainsong
He suggests diluting orange with a lot of white.

Rainsong
The paler the colour, the fewer side-effects you’ll need to worry about, with any colour.

Dakaran
Ok, so white is an overall safe color to use then?

Rainsong
Yes.

Rainsong
Any other questions or commentary?

Dakaran
I don’t believe so. I think I understand it.

Dakaran
Thanks for the information.

Rainsong
You’re welcome. This one is a nice, reasonably safe “all-purpose” healing work, so it’s a good one to start with.

bleyraz
what about the effects of yellow, brown, purple, pink, and black energy, would you happen to know?

Rainsong
Purple is much like blue for most purpose, but doesn’t seem to be used as much.

Rainsong
pulling out the book that talked about the orange stuff

Rainsong
Might as well cite it, now that I’ve found the thing…

Rainsong
Your Hands Can Heal You
Author: Stephen Co & Eric Robbins, with John Merryman
Free Press: New York et al, 2002

Rainsong
Mr Co warns to always use one shade lower than you need, and to have mostly white. Don’t use colours at all on small children or pregnant women. (pp159-160)

Rainsong
Pink is seen in his system as being a “pale” version of red.

Rainsong
Red: warm, strengthening, stimulating, activating, dilating, expanding, growing

Rainsong
Yellow: cementing, hardening, wound repair

Rainsong
brown: not specified, but it’s technically a shade of orange, so probably best avoided.

Rainsong
purple: cleaning, disinfecting, magnifying, regenerating

Rainsong
black: not listed

Rainsong
I don’t personally use many colours for much, but the orange warning from Mr. Co’s book stuck with me, even though I’m pretty sure I haven’t pulled the book out of the bookcase since we unpacked in this house more than six years ago.

ShadowRain
Is yellow considered different than gold?

Rainsong
I think so. It “feels” different.

ShadowRain
nods I figured it might be just wasn’t sure if the book made the distinction

Rainsong
It doesn’t, at least in that section.

ShadowRain
Ahh k

ShadowRain
Sounds like an interesting book though

Rainsong
He only suggests uses for a few colours, and warns against using any strong colours.

ShadowRain
Good to know

Rainsong
I’m not sure how reliable his stuff is, but the orange bit has held up as accurate.

Rainsong
The green/teal warnings originally came from somewhere else, but are consistent here, too

ShadowRain
nods

ShadowRain
I knew about the green, but not orange
