Seminar: Topic: PK in combat (with pre-lecture on the pros and cons of downloading skills) – Saturday, 15 June, 2019 at 6:30pm/1830hr New York Time — text format in the PSC #lecture room (Discord) — Instructor: Rainsong — Search LECTURE79

Whisp: what is lecture topic?

Rainsong: Use of PK in combat

Desolus: wooo!

Rainsong: Warning: tonight’s topic is controversial

Desolus: best kind

Whisp: combat, physical or psi?

Rainsong: Primarily physical

Rainsong: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen
Welcome to another psionics seminar here at the social club
We’re taking on a controversial topic this evening
“The use of psychokinesis in combat”
Whisp asked, a moment ago, whether psi or physical combat was meant…
Of course, if you’re using pk in it, the combat is at least partially psionic.
But we’re not talking about sparring in the practice annex here.
It might be a harmless game of paintball or a similar combat sport
Or you might be in the unfortunate position of needing to use it for real against actual, serious opponents in wartime (civil or otherwise)

Rainsong: First of all, let’s look at the obvious ramifications and considerations
If you’re in a firefight, and resorting to psionics, the situation is well beyond FUBAR
Concentration is likely shot (and you yourself might be….), adrenaline is messing with your blood chemistry, and the situation is generally going pear-shaped, yea?
I’d say this isn’t the time to try a force-bubble for the first time, but frankly, if you’re totally out of other options and have no normal cover at all, why not give it a try? At that point, you’re not losing anything
At that point, put all the oomph you have into making a tight shield around you and your squadmates, pushing outward against anything hitting the shell. If you can, convert the impacts into oomph. That last part’s probably too complex for the situation, though.

Rainsong: Questions or comments so far?

shadowsword: Perhaps it would also be wise to dampen your presence as well using the environment’s energy, tying that into the bubble; Just a suggestion, I’ve personally had great success with it

Rainsong: (“FUBAR” = fluffed up beyond all recognition)

senpai…: If this is for combat, will it also cover trying to heal in combat a possable bullet wound?

Chirotractor: Like a poodle after a bath!

Rainsong: Shadowsword: concealing yourself, tying in cloaking/hedge programming to the forcebubble is always useful, if you have the concentration to spare. In a real firefight, you probably won’t

Rainsong: If the fight hasn’t started yet, a hedge-shield is handy to avoid the fight. Especially if you have the skill to deceive infra-red and similar scopes, in addition to human perceptions.

Rainsong: Hint: This is a good thing to practice before you need it

Rainsong: And yes, evading cameras and infra-red scopes has been done

senpai…: Could you walk past a automated turret?

Rainsong: Senpai: I haven’t tried that specific usage, but with appropriate shielding it should be doable

senpai…: You said you can avoid camira, but if you’re forced so say, walk past a static one, can you make yourself unseen on it in future recordings? If they say review it?

Rainsong: It’s possible to not be recorded by a camera you’re in front of and which is operating at the time. I’m not especially good at it, but I know a few people who are

senpai…: That sounds pretty awesome. Even more so for someone whos camria shy

Desolus: creepy shit there :stare:

Rainsong: The most effective method I’m aware of is to project an interference pattern, like chaff or the “snowstorm” pattern of a television channel that’s not receiving a signal

Rainsong: The other option is to destroy the camera, of course, but a sudden camera malfunction is likely to be investigated. A series of them is certainly going to attract attention

Rainsong: Some people succeed in projecting the image of whatever is behind them.

Desolus: if the op is fast, not exactly a problem

senpai…: Can you force a camria to see things? Can you do a Laughing Man from Ghost in the Shell?

Desolus: lmao

Rainsong: I haven’t seen or read Ghost in the Shell. But projecting images (static and moving) onto recordings has been done for decades. It was a popular hobby for a while in the ’70s

Rainsong: It’s another thing I haven’t done a lot of, myself, however

senpai…: http://cdn.collider.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/ghost-in-the-shell-laughing-man-logo.gif

senpai…: He pretty much makes everyone see his face as that “meme”

senpai…: live

Rainsong: Getting the lettering clear enough to read would be very difficult.

Rainsong: If its something you’d want to do, I’d suggest setting up the illusion ahead of time, making it as strong and clear as possible, and then anchoring it to a trigger

senpai…: would things set up like that be reuseable?

Nevyn: Sure

Rainsong: Yes. However, you’ll need to re-enforce/strengthen it from time to time, if you don’t use it for a while

Nevyn: Reusable glamours tend to work better because the time put in.

Desolus: generally, you can cast things you’ve designed by simply calling up the design in your head and adding oomph

senpai…: So what is this oomph you guys speak of

Nevyn: Exerted will.

Rainsong: It’s the difference between imagining something, and calling it into reality

Rainsong: “Psi”

Rainsong: What exactly is it? Insufficient data at this time, and it may be several things.

Rainsong: It’s the stuff we make constructs out of

Desolus: will being a inseparable part of humanity using the idea of oomph to measure the amount is a useful tool

Rainsong: Other questions or comments at this point? We’re not exactly sticking with “PK” for combat entirely, but that’s okay.

senpai…: How can I use the will/oophm.

Desolus: you typed that message with will

senpai…: I mean the mental type, that can make barroirs and such.

shadowsword: So aside from barriers what else can be done in combat?

Rainsong: I’ll direct you to the “Basics and Maintenance” class logs for the rudiments of using oomph: http://psc-online.org/class-logs/

Rainsong: Also scroll down to the shielding section, to find instructions about how to make force-bubbles

Desolus: to make PK practical it is necessary to view the physical and mental application of will as the same, thus is the concept of oomph

Rainsong: Before we wander off from barriers: remember that these are easily practiced in paintball games, around pockets of billiard tables, and so on.

Rainsong: and, you can make the barrier around the opponent, to foul his firearm, for example

Desolus: ^

Desolus: and, heaven forbid, you just train with and carry a firearm

senpai…: in combat can you add healing to the barroir? and you never answered the healing a wound in combat thing.

Rainsong: Or, you can get more directly violent, and foul the working of various important bodily functions… blood flow to the brain, for example

Desolus: a small line of force in the brain can cause all manner of issues

Rainsong: Adding healing to the barrier is likely to weaken both your barrier and your healing ability. Concentrate on one or the other.

shadowsword: agreed

Rainsong: In the heat of battle, using psionics to re-knit all the damage of a bullet passing through tissues will be difficult.

Rainsong: Stopping bleeding, for example, is easy.

senpai…: @Desolus sounds like you can just give people aneurysms to kill them

Desolus: i mean, why not?

Rainsong: Repairing all of the different kinds of damage from a bullet wound rather less so. If you are in a position where you need to try it, push oomph through a visualisation of the wounded area being already healed

Rainsong: Sempai: yes, that’s one of the more effective methods

Nevyn: Simple too

Rainsong: Generally, it’s easier to cause damage than to repair it (This also applies to equipment)

senpai…: makes me think spooky queastions like, does the govs know these things ? >…>

Rainsong: Yes, most governments are aware of this

shadowsword: project stargate is a classic example

senpai…: I’m wondering why there aren’t mass deaths by the govs useing aneurysms then

Rainsong: Stargate itself was “just” espionage, as far as I understand it

Rainsong: A) It’s a lot of work to cause mass deaths that way, and the type of folks willing to do it are exactly the types of folks the government would have trouble controlling, and B) fewer bombs and missiles would be sold, if more direct methods were used as a general matter of course

Rainsong: Some of the de-classified CIA documents discuss the difficulty in managing the personnel in paranormal operations, such to maintain operational security, need-to-know, etc

Rainsong: In case you’re wondering, yes, I am entirely serious.

senpai…: Thats honestly kinda awesome then.

Rainsong: I’m not American, so I’ll have to leave to your imagination what they haven’t declassified

shadowsword: hehe

shadowsword: I wonder that too

senpai…: One of the most broken sounding op abilitys the people who want the contorol the world can’t really use purely because they can’t control the people who use it

Rainsong: Well, you see, they can exert such control, for a while…

Rainsong: They are rightly concerned about the possibility of things blowing up in their faces.

senpai…: Sounds like they would just get a Lucy

Rainsong: “Lucy”?

senpai…: http://pa1.narvii.com/5682/a66f12f095683df56a6566df06a630aa149d24c5_hq.gif

Chirotractor: Its a movie

senpai…: the gov tried to screw with this human being with mental/ghost hands

senpai…: and what they got was a physcotic insane person who just went murder hobo as if it was a D&D game. on them.

Rainsong: They tend to be a little more careful about it, for fear of pretty much exactly that result. Can be brutal, though

Nevyn: Woo elfen lied!

senpai…: the hands were unbreakable, could flip tanks, unseeable, and could act as both weapon and shield

senpai…: Also she can use them for movement

Rainsong: Sounds like the basic “tendril” approach

Desolus: tendrils!

Desolus: even more effective if you form them as phallic symbols.

Rainsong: LOL. Whatever floats your boat, Desolus

senpai…: with hands that have phallic fingers

Desolus: im a tad drunk if you cant tell

Rainsong: Vodka can do that

Nevyn: Aren’t you always?

Desolus: fair point

senpai…: use PK to make oneself perma drunk

senpai…: never have hangover

Desolus: now that sounds awful

Desolus: half the fun is in the drinking

Nevyn: Being drunk sucks, getting drunk is fun

Desolus: i suppose that’s one way to look at it

Rainsong: As for other uses of PK for combat, remember that force-bubbles can be made in any shape at all, and don’t have to be “around” anything…. hint hint nudge nudge

Desolus: lol

Rainsong: Also, pk can directly interfere with the workings of electrical and electronic equipment, including but not limited to the controls of many kinds of vehicles and weapons systems

Nevyn: Pk is hard, easier to just leave them brain dead :smilingimp:

Desolus: force spikes ftw

Rainsong: And your nervous system is a bio-electrical system. Just sayin’…

Desolus: hah

Desolus: a little zapy zap

Rainsong: There’s always the good old-fashioned “throwing rocks and other items around”, too

senpai…: How does one passiveally protect themselves againist the basics of unknowing life?

Rainsong: Re-phrase, please?

Rainsong: I don’t understand your question

Desolus: use literal nukes to wipe out every other living thing on the planet?

senpai…: like you never know if you might get into a carcrash or something. Things can happen in a second that leave you fully unable to even prosses it before it happens

senpai…: how would one protect themselves passively in everyday life from such deadly possablitys

Nevyn: Constant situational awareness

Rainsong: Shielding can help, too

Rainsong: Unfortuante fact of life is that nobody gets out alive

senpai…: what about the afterlife?

Rainsong: That said, having a force-bubble set up and ready to trigger at a split-second’s notice could be handy

Nevyn: Cantrips are always a good idea

Rainsong: Cantrips for the win

senpai…: Can we use PK to make ourselves younger?

Rainsong: If you regard the afterlife as the same as being alive, then there’s nothing to worry about, regarding preventing sudden death in this life, ye?

Rainsong: Make ourselves younger? Ummm, teleport back in time?

Rainsong: I mean, teleportation isn’t my thing, but that’s the only way I can see to make you younger

senpai…: Its still not nice to just randomally go poof if you can help it. lol

Wayfarer: lmao speak for yourself

senpai…: no like. heal yourself into being younger.

Wayfarer: #deathcrew

shadowsword: You could also dimension jump, but that’s another complicated topic :ZuckSip:

Rainsong: “heal yourself into being younger” –> That is outside my area of expertise

senpai…: the body only really gets older do to decaying which even sieince is getting close to stoping.

Nevyn: There are telomeres to consider too…

senpai…: As such, healing the decay in ones cells seems like it might work

Wayfarer: All composited things are impermanent.

senpai…: well you’d supposedly still die of old age, your body and looks would at most be like 30 when your “age” is around 200 when your body gives out. At least thats the thoery atm

Rainsong: Do some study of cell physiology and such before attempting those kinds of things. Causing cancers and other issues is easier than correcting them

Rainsong: Some kinds of creatures don’t die “of old age” at all. But we’re apes, and apes do

Chirotractor: Just make your entire body into cancer!

senpai…: Yes and no, the dna and stuff in pretty much everything is the same. We share like 90% of active our dna with bananas if i remember right. Its all about which dna parts are active. If we could active a starfishes regin ability and a Jellyfishes immortality well. We’d have some pretty awesome lifespan and healing boosts.

Rainsong: Any questions or commentary?

Chirotractor: So basically you can do anything you want with pk if you practice fuckloads

Rainsong: There are practical limits, in terms of strength and skill, but those limits are much, much further out than is generally acknowledged.

Rainsong: And the “goodness” or “pureness” of the intention has no bearing on it

Rainsong: For example, most people are never going to be able to pick up the opposing army’s stronghold/fort/HQ and fling it bodily into the Gulf of Maine

Rainsong: Setting it on fire, on the other hand.

Rainsong: Or setting off munitions in the armoury….

Rainsong: … Or completely fluffing with their computer systems (or a specific application within their computer systems)…

Rainsong: Those are all workable

senpai…: I have to admit, seeing one pissed off person just picking up and “yeeting” a whole enemys HQ into the sea would be more entertaining to watch

Rainsong: Probably

senpai…: by fluffing do you mean damage or even say, changing the settings ?

Rainsong: fluffing = slightly more intense / rude version of “fucking up”

Rainsong: Would include physical damage to the equipment, deleting files, “blue screen of death”, switching all the log-ins to “Hello! My name is Quizzy. Would you like to play a game?”, shutting down every computer in a hundred-mile radius….

Rainsong: Anything along those lines

Rainsong: Allegedly, Lyn Buchanan got recruited for the American remote viewing program because of an incident in which he fluffed the American and Soviet computers all along the border, all at once, and it took a few days for both sides to get their gear working again… while trying to hide their problem from the opposing side

Rainsong: (In Germany, during the Cold War)

shadowsword: Actually I do have a question regarding PK specifically something along the lines of electrokinesis and pyrokinesis, how does one usually go about strengthening the attunement of chi in the body to be able to do those things? I assume with some sort of meditation but I am curious on knowing as much about it as I can, reason being I used to be able to do this to some degree in the past but mostly uncontrolled/ during events of anger, nothing in a controlled manner except for certain things like bluetooth waves and at times holding lights off simply using PK

senpai…: I sadly have to be off, I can’t even keep my eyes open and my head keeps falling. I need sleep. Thanks for the lecture

Rainsong: No idea whether attunement of chi has any bearing on it, but backflushing your meridians and then “running energy” through them is often a good thing to do

Rainsong: Be well, Sempai. Good night

shadowsword: Hmm, noted. I happen to have a chart for that somewhere

Rainsong: I’d suggest practicing pk on small objects, for short amounts of time, a few times a day, in order to gain decent control over it. If it’s happened in an uncontrolled manner in the past, the basic aptitude is there.

Rainsong: Is there a party supply store close by (not sure what part of the city you’re in and I do not want you to tell us in here)? The little plastic mazes and the balancing-eagle toys are great practice targets. Small amount of friction and easy to see if it’s working, but neither tend to move just from small air movements

Rainsong: Radiometer’s another good one, but more expensive and harder to find.

shadowsword: ||already hinted my city earlier|| As a fellow scientist I will find the more science-y things, been already thinking of looking for EKG equipment

Rainsong: I know what city you’re in. I don’t want you to tell us what part

shadowsword: Lol alright

Nevyn: Actually quite easy to build a EKG

shadowsword: I wanted to do that

Rainsong: They’re also available online

Rainsong: Expect to spend a pretty penny, but they’re openly available

shadowsword: needs to find blueprints

Rainsong: Run a web search for “how to build an ekg”… there’s a lot of data freely available

Nevyn: https://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Portable-EKG-Monitor/

shadowsword: Hmm, would it also detect brainwaves?

Scelana: Quite an interesting lecture today When I’m a bit more able to focus on its details I’ll reread the log again hehe

Rainsong: Hi, Scelana: advantages of text-chats, yea? 🙂

Scelana: I think there’s publicly available eeg headsets these days. Brainwaves is eeg right?

Scelana: Indeed I’m having a few things making concentration in certain areas more difficult lately

Rainsong: There are several such sets available in different price ranges and sensitivity ranges

Scelana: If I had the money I’d like to get one myself If anything it be useful in making a good setup for training focus and concentration

Scelana: A videogame ran on just an eeg headset for input would be interesting to try out

shadowsword: I’ll start with the radiometer for now lol

Nevyn: There is a game like that

Nevyn: Journey to the wild divine or something like that

shadowsword: I’ve heard of one that reads brainwaves to use air tubes in order to move a ball around a circuit

Scelana: If I ever can afford it one day, I’d like to try that game out Nevyn

Nevyn: You’ll need an XP machine to run it I think

Scelana: I have one

Scelana: Winxp right?

shadowsword: I happen to have one too just to play X-Wing lmao

Scelana: My 1st pc I could afford to build is a win xp one i put together in 2003

Scelana: It just needs a new psu and one it’s storage drives needs to be recovered and replaced. Just a failed control board on the hdd so might be a recovery i can do myself since i don’t need to take out the platters

Rainsong: I believe Wild Divine was bought out by a different company, but the game is still available for purchase. And there are some other similar ones

Scelana: Cool

Scelana: I’d really like to train the one high focus state I can reach at times It’s proven useful in many videogames as it is So hoping i can apply it to more useful things once I get it back up again

Scelana: I even know some the things that happen to me before i enter that state Not sure exactly why i have some those specific things occur as I enter it

Rainsong: Might be some youtube videos useful for that, too.

Rainsong: Anyway, any further commentary or questions about psionic combat?

shadowsword: I’ll point out that with good enough control you can shift how much force you put in one place in your body making you much less likely to get pushed or knocked back, if you use this in combat you can take a direct hit, feel nothing, and you can use that to deliver more force than usual

shadowsword: Furthermore if you tap an object and sense for its weak point you can tune yourself like a tuning fork to be able to deliver an impact that can break through things like wood blocks easily

Desolus: you’re going to have to force diagram that shit…

shadowsword: XD I suck at explaining things

Rainsong: Thanks for participating in tonight’s class, everyone

Raggiedmon: Thank Rainsong

Scelana: Thxies for the lecture Rainsong!

Rainsong: 🙂
